A devastating shooting rocked Spanaway on Monday, leaving the community in shock. The incident happened at a home on 165th Street East, where a man was tragically shot. The caller told deputies that the shooter fled the scene after firing the deadly shot.
When deputies arrived, they found the victim and sadly pronounced him dead at the scene. Thankfully, the suspect was quickly apprehended at a different location, and authorities assure that there’s no ongoing threat to the public.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer, Carly Cappetto, expressed the sadness of the situation, especially during the holiday season: “This is a very unfortunate event for this time of year. For loved ones and family members involved, this is definitely not something anyone should have to experience during the holidays.”
Right now, investigators are still piecing together what led to this senseless tragedy. They’re working hard to figure out whether the suspect and the victim knew each other, and they continue to interview witnesses and collect evidence.
