9-Year-Old Girl Caught in Crossfire: Shocking Shooting in Southwest Atlanta

A 9-year-old girl was injured in a shooting on Thursday evening in southwest Atlanta, leaving the community shaken.

Atlanta Police say the incident happened just before 6 p.m. in the 1700 block of Myrtle Drive SW. Officers arrived to find the young girl with a gunshot wound to her leg. Despite the frightening ordeal, she was alert, conscious, and breathing when taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The shooting took place near an apartment complex where officers were conducting a routine traffic stop. Suddenly, multiple gunshots rang out, drawing their attention to the scene. As they rushed over, they saw several people running away from the area.

Police immediately detained four individuals as persons of interest, hoping to piece together what had happened. However, they have not yet released any information about who might be responsible for the shooting or what led up to it.

As of now, the young girl’s name has not been shared, and the Atlanta Police Department’s Aggravated Assault Unit continues to investigate the incident.

The community is left with many questions, but police are working hard to uncover the truth and bring justice for the little girl caught in this alarming situation.
