A shocking incident in Kissimmee, Florida, unfolded over the weekend when a $2 tip allegedly led a pizza delivery driver to return and repeatedly stab a pregnant woman. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office shared details about the case that has left many stunned.
Brianna Alvelo, a 22-year-old delivery driver, is facing serious charges, including attempted murder, home invasion, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. The incident happened at the Riviera Motel on East Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, where the victim was staying with her boyfriend and 5-year-old daughter to celebrate a birthday.
The trouble began when the family ordered a $33 pizza from Marco’s Pizza. Alvelo delivered the pizza around 10 p.m., but when the woman tried to pay with a $50 bill, Alvelo didn’t have enough change. To resolve the issue, the woman used smaller bills and included a $2 tip.
What seemed like a routine pizza delivery turned into a nightmare 90 minutes later. The woman said she heard a loud knock at the motel door. When she answered, a man and a woman dressed in black clothing and masks forced their way into the room. The man was armed with a revolver and ordered the woman’s boyfriend into the bathroom, leaving her alone to face Alvelo.
According to the victim, Alvelo pulled out a pocketknife, searched through her purse, and even destroyed her 5-year-old daughter’s Nintendo Switch. In an attempt to protect her child, the woman used her body as a shield but was stabbed in the lower back. She threw her daughter onto the bed to keep her safe and tried to grab her phone, but Alvelo smashed it and continued the brutal attack, stabbing her multiple times.
The man with the gun eventually told Alvelo it was time to leave, which brought the horrifying assault to an end. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where she learned she was pregnant. Despite being stabbed 14 times, she is in stable condition and recovering.
Surveillance footage from the motel showed a woman arriving in a red Toyota Camry to deliver the pizza and later returning with a man, both wearing masks. Investigators traced the vehicle to Alvelo, who works for Marco’s Pizza. A manager confirmed Alvelo drives a red Toyota Camry and left work at 10:20 p.m. that night.
Police arrested Alvelo on Monday after obtaining a warrant. She is being held at the Osceola County Jail with bail set at $55,000. However, authorities are still searching for her accomplice.
Prosecutors have requested that Alvelo remain in custody without bail until her trial, noting that the charges she faces could lead to a life sentence.
