Man Arrested in Buckeye After Carjacking in California

A man wanted for a carjacking in California was caught in Buckeye last Monday, thanks to some quick thinking by local police.

It all started when a stolen truck was spotted by a license plate reader in a parking lot near Miller Road and Pima Street in Buckeye. That’s when officers swooped in and arrested 31-year-old Michael Lymon.

Lymon, who was alone when arrested, is now facing charges for unlawful transportation after he was found driving the stolen pickup truck. According to police, he and several other suspects were involved in a violent carjacking in Rialto, California, where the victim was assaulted before the truck was stolen. The victim had to be hospitalized following the attack.

While Lymon is in custody, the Rialto Police Department is looking to have him extradited back to California to face felony charges of vehicle theft. They are still investigating the crime and have not released further details at this time.

It’s thanks to technology, like license plate readers, that police were able to track down Lymon in Buckeye. He may have been far from the scene of the crime, but justice caught up with him nonetheless.

Stay tuned for updates on this case as the investigation continues.
