A shocking case has come to light in Arlington, where a substitute teacher was arrested for having an inappropriate relationship with a student. Arlington County police arrested 47-year-old Timothy McGhee, a resident of Alexandria, on Friday. He’s facing serious charges related to a sexual offense.
The investigation began when police received information about McGhee’s inappropriate relationship with a female student, which reportedly started back in September 2022. At the time, McGhee was working as a substitute at Washington-Liberty High School.
The school’s principal took swift action, sending a message to parents, emphasizing the safety of the students and reassuring families that the school was fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, Arlington GOP Chairman Matthew Hurtt shared his thoughts on social media, condemning McGhee’s actions. He reminded the public of how vulnerable children are and expressed his disgust over the situation. Hurtt also pointed out that McGhee had previously run for Virginia State Senate 14 years ago.
If anyone has information about this case or believes there might be additional victims, they’re urged to contact the police at 703-228-4244 or Crime Solvers anonymously at 866-411-TIPS (8477).
It’s crucial that we all stay vigilant and support our communities, especially when it comes to protecting our children.
