A real estate agent from Greenville, North Carolina, is at the center of a shocking investigation involving a triple homicide and four separate crime scenes. Authorities arrested 55-year-old David Hansen Lever, charging him with three counts of murder. The arrest came after a dramatic confrontation where the son of two victims held Lever at gunpoint, potentially preventing more bloodshed.
The case began to unfold on January 10 when police discovered three people dead from gunshot wounds. The victims were identified as Tony Gribble, 80, his wife Paula Gribble, 76, and 64-year-old Enrique Reyes. While it’s unclear how Lever knew Reyes, investigators confirmed that he worked as the Gribbles’ realtor when they bought their home back in 2014.
What started as a quiet Sunday quickly turned tragic for the Gribble family. “Tonight was supposed to be Sunday dinner, but it’s not,” said their son, TD Gribble, speaking through his grief.
Sheriff Paula Dance shared chilling details during a press conference, explaining that had the Gribble son not intervened, Lever could have targeted more people. Authorities later searched Lever’s home and found a stockpile of over 50 weapons, as well as firearms and ammunition inside his van.
While the investigation continues, police believe the crime scenes are connected. The shocking events have left the community grappling for answers as authorities work to piece together what led to this devastating tragedy.
