Three men from Ohio are facing serious charges after a violent robbery and murder at a marijuana grow business in Pontiac, Michigan, on Monday night. The owner of the business, 66-year-old Sam Simko, tragically lost his life in the horrific incident.
Authorities have charged William Creasy and Scott Brown with felony murder and armed robbery. A third man, Deonte Prophett, faces even more charges, including felony murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard provided chilling details about what happened. He explained that one of the suspects had met with Simko earlier that evening. As this suspect left the property, two others, wearing masks and gloves, forced their way inside.
The situation turned deadly when the suspects executed Simko, shooting him in the head. To make matters worse, they zip-tied him and placed a bag over his head. The men then stole a significant amount of marijuana before fleeing the scene. Simko’s business partner later discovered him after the crime had occurred.
Sheriff Bouchard shared how investigators were able to track the suspects to Ohio, where search warrants were executed. During the search, a .45 caliber handgun was found, which authorities believe was used in the murder.
Simko, who lived in Commerce Township, Michigan, is remembered as a husband and father to adult children. His tragic death has left his family and community in deep sorrow.
This shocking case highlights the dangers business owners can face and raises concerns about the lengths people will go for illegal gains. Law enforcement continues to investigate, ensuring justice is served for Simko and his grieving family.
