A shocking road rage incident unfolded in Corona early last week, leaving residents startled and a man behind bars.
It all went down on Promenade Avenue on a seemingly regular Tuesday. According to the Corona Police Department, the drama began when a driver reported being side-swiped by another car—a white Nissan Pathfinder. But things took a terrifying turn when the suspect allegedly confronted the victim with a gun.
Fearing for their life, the victim sped away and flagged down nearby officers. Upon inspecting the victim’s car, police discovered a gunshot hole in the rear passenger window.
With swift action, investigators tracked down the suspect, 36-year-old Ruben Durame, at a residence on Bennett Avenue. After obtaining a search warrant, officers uncovered a 9mm handgun in his car.
Durame was arrested without incident and taken to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. He was released on Saturday after posting $75,000 bail, according to police records.
