A tragic accident early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 30-year-old man on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. near 76th Street when the man, driving a white Honda, lost control of his car after fleeing from an earlier crash.
According to Illinois State Police, the car veered off the southbound lanes, climbed an embankment, and struck a pole.
The collision caused the vehicle to burst into flames, leaving the driver trapped inside. Sadly, he did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Crews worked to clear the area, and all lanes of the expressway were reopened to traffic by 4:40 a.m.
Authorities have not released further details about the incident or the man involved.
