ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. — The twists in the case of Scott Mason, the man accused of shooting a police captain in St. Johnsbury, have taken another dramatic turn.
Authorities have now arrested a sixth person connected to Mason’s escape. Vermont State Police say 45-year-old Tracie Largy, a local from St. Johnsbury, was taken into custody and charged with being an accessory after the fact.
What does that mean? Essentially, Largy is accused of helping Mason evade capture after the shooting. She’s set to appear in court tomorrow, facing arraignment alongside five other suspects who were also charged for aiding in his escape.
Here’s how it all began: Captain Jason Gray of the St. Johnsbury Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at Mason’s apartment. But instead of cooperating, Mason fired a gun at the officers, striking Captain Gray.
The case continues to shock and unfold, keeping the community on edge as they await justice for the injured captain. Stay tuned as more details emerge in this high-stakes investigation.
