In a quiet Queens neighborhood, an incident has left residents shaken and searching for answers. A 23-year-old man is facing charges for the murder of his 63-year-old neighbor in their residential building.
It all unfolded on Monday morning when police responded to a 911 call at 80-45 Winchester Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. Inside the building, officers discovered Ronald Giacopelli, 63, unconscious and unresponsive. He had suffered multiple stab wounds to the back of his neck and lower back, authorities reported.
Despite efforts from emergency medical services, Giacopelli was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after, police arrested David Zheng, who lives in the same building.
Zheng now faces charges of second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. As of now, investigators haven’t shared what may have led to this heartbreaking incident or what the motive might have been.
The NYPD has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. This tragic event has left the community grappling with grief and unanswered questions.
