Severe Storms Set to Strike Texas and the South: Flash Flooding, Tornado Risks, and More

A powerful storm is making its way toward the southern Plains and Texas, and people are bracing for some rough weather. Heavy rain, strong winds, and even tornadoes could be on the way.

The storm is set to arrive Wednesday evening, bringing a mix of severe weather. Parts of Texas could see damaging winds, large hail, and possibly even an isolated tornado.

By Thursday, things will intensify as the storm spreads across the South. Cities from Houston to Jackson, Mississippi, will be on alert for dangerous winds and tornadoes, while flash flooding could become a major problem for areas stretching from Dallas to Little Rock, Memphis, and Paducah, Kentucky.

With some places expecting up to 5 inches of rain, officials have issued flood watches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. The heaviest downpours are expected from Wednesday night through Thursday night.
