A Texas man, Cody Lee Terell, has been arrested after a hidden camera was discovered in a restroom where he worked. The incident occurred in Belton, Texas, when a female employee noticed an unusual object placed under a ceiling tile while using the restroom. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a camera positioned to record individuals using the toilet.
The woman immediately reported the discovery to authorities. After reviewing the SD card from the camera, police confirmed that it contained footage of the woman using the restroom. Investigators later learned that Terell, a coworker of the woman, had used the same restroom earlier that day. According to the employee, Terell seemed nervous during his visit, as he typically used a different restroom.
When questioned by police, Terell initially denied placing the hidden camera. However, he eventually confessed to setting it up to capture footage of another employee. The arrest affidavit also revealed that Terell’s Amazon purchase history included multiple purchases of hidden cameras. This evidence led to Terell being charged with invasive visual recording, a serious offense under Texas law.
Terell’s actions have raised concerns about privacy violations in the workplace. Authorities are continuing to investigate the matter, and Terell remains in custody following his arrest.
