Dramatic Police Chase in Decatur Ends with Suspect Caught After Ditch Escape!

A wild police chase in Decatur, Alabama, ended with a dramatic arrest on Friday after a man reportedly stole a vehicle and tried to outrun the cops.

According to the Decatur Police Department, officers got word about a stolen vehicle spotted in southwest Decatur. It didn’t take long for them to locate the car heading north onto Spring Avenue. That’s when things took a turn.

As officers, detectives, and investigators jumped in to help, the driver decided to make a run for it, leading police on a high-speed chase through town. The pursuit finally came to an end when the stolen vehicle veered off the road and got stuck in a ditch on Canterbury Avenue. But the suspect wasn’t ready to give up just yet.

After ditching the car, the driver took off on foot, running through the neighborhood in an attempt to escape. But police weren’t far behind. The chase ended near the 1700 block of Douthit Street, where officers managed to catch and arrest him.

The suspect was identified as Harold Crawford. He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree receiving stolen property. Crawford was booked into the Morgan County Jail with a $5,000 bond.

Authorities say this might not be the end of his legal troubles. As the investigation continues, more charges could be on the way.
