An Indiana man, Taylor Meyer, has been charged with murder after allegedly killing his wife, Deborah Meyer, on Valentine’s Day. According to Indiana court records, Meyer was officially charged on February 14. Reports from WAVE and WDRB, citing a probable cause affidavit, indicate that Meyer had planned a special Valentine’s Day celebration for his wife, which included buying her a dress, preparing dinner, and organizing a Paris-themed evening. As part of the celebration, he also had his children draw pictures of the Eiffel Tower.
Meyer allegedly told police that he felt his wife was unappreciative of his efforts and appeared emotionally distant. He reportedly expressed his frustration to investigators, saying, “It was the hardest I’ve ever tried.” Additionally, Meyer claimed that he suspected Deborah of having an affair with a co-worker and had seen a photo of her holding hands with another man.
According to the affidavit, Meyer admitted to attacking his wife, first striking her with a wine bottle before repeatedly stabbing her with a kitchen knife. Following the attack, he reportedly sent a message to a family group chat, informing them that Deborah was dead.
Authorities took Meyer into custody, and he has since pleaded not guilty to the charges. Court records indicate that his next scheduled court appearance is on March 18.
