HAMMOND – A Chicago man, Nurldon Green, III, aged 32, has been sentenced after failing to report for his prison sentence, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
Green was given a 14-month prison sentence, which will be served after his 27-month sentence for a previous conviction related to Theft of Mail. In total, Green will also serve two years of supervised release after completing his prison term.
Here’s what happened: On February 22, 2024, Green was sentenced for his previous federal case and was supposed to report to the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) or the U.S. Marshals Service in Hammond, Indiana, by April 4, 2024. Unfortunately, Green did not show up at either location. After several months, Green was located and arrested on August 31, 2024, and has been in custody ever since.
The investigation into his actions was handled by the United States Postal Inspection Service, with support from the United States Marshals Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Morgan oversaw the prosecution of the case.
