A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of an 82-year-old man early Monday morning in Hayward, as reported by local authorities.
The Hayward Police Department shared that officers were called to the intersection of Miami Avenue and Coronado Street around 6 a.m. after someone reported seeing a man lying injured in the road. When the police arrived, they found the elderly man with injuries that appeared to be caused by a vehicle. Emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but sadly, he didn’t survive.
The man’s identity had not been released as of Monday, leaving loved ones and the community mourning his loss.
