Jones County deputies responded to a domestic assault incident in Comfort on March 5 around 2:30 a.m., which involved an underage male and an armed suspect. The situation led to the arrests of two individuals.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies encountered two adults, identified as Brittany Fenstermacher and Shane Parker, along with three children. During their investigation, deputies became concerned for the children’s safety. Further inquiries revealed that the children had been reported missing in another county. Additionally, officials found a history of prior neglect and abuse allegations against the adults in another state.
Following an assessment by the Jones County Department of Social Services, the children were removed from the home and placed into protective custody to ensure their safety. Authorities determined that the conditions and circumstances warranted immediate intervention.
Fenstermacher and Parker were taken into custody and are now facing multiple charges related to child neglect, abuse, and assault.
Brittany Fenstermacher has been charged with three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile due to neglect, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile due to abuse, and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. Her bond has been set at $25,000.
Shane Parker is also facing three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile due to neglect, two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, one count of simple assault, and one count of assault on a child under 12. His bond is also set at $25,000.
Authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case, ensuring the well-being of the children involved. The Jones County Sheriff’s Office urges anyone with information about similar incidents to report them to the appropriate authorities.
