Paragould, Arkansas, is facing a nightmare all over again. Less than a year after an EF-1 tornado tore through the community on Memorial Day, another, even stronger, tornado has struck the same neighborhood—just as residents were rebuilding.
Over the weekend, a powerful storm system unleashed more than 70 tornadoes across 13 states, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Among them was an EF-2 tornado that tore through Paragould, one of nine twisters confirmed in Arkansas alone. The National Weather Service reported that this tornado, with winds reaching 125 mph, touched down in Greene County just after midnight on Saturday, March 14, carving a six-mile path of destruction. At least four people were injured.
A FOX Weather analysis revealed something shocking: this latest tornado followed nearly the same path as the one from last year, striking the same neighborhoods in Paragould, including Club View Estates and Enclave. The NWS Memphis office confirmed that several homes in Club View Estates were hit for the second time in just 10 months, suffering extensive roof damage yet again.
For many residents, the devastation feels like déjà vu, as they find themselves once again picking up the pieces after another terrifying storm.
