In a shocking turn of events, former Bears defensive end Robert Quinn was arrested once again on Friday in South Carolina. This marks his second arrest in just two years!
Quinn, who holds the Bears’ single-season sack record, found himself in trouble after a multi-vehicle crash in North Charleston. Police say the accident occurred early Friday morning, and when they arrived, they spotted a white Dodge Challenger backing away from the scene. Quinn was in the passenger seat, with fresh injuries to his head and hands. The driver, a woman, told officers that Quinn had called her to come pick him up after the crash.
It seems Quinn’s vehicle caused quite the mess, hitting a Honda Element, which then crashed into a Ford F-150 and a Chrysler 300. As a result, he was arrested and taken to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
This isn’t Quinn’s first run-in with the law. Back in August 2023, he was charged with several offenses, including assault and battery, after an accident. Police claimed he drove off the road, hitting multiple vehicles, and got into a confrontation with one of the drivers.
For those who don’t know, Quinn was with the Bears from 2020 to 2022. During his time with the team, he became a record-breaker, surpassing Richard Dent’s single-season sack record in 2021 with an impressive 18 ½ sacks. However, after a quiet 2022 season, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. While he made it to the Super Bowl, he didn’t manage to rack up any sacks in the postseason.
Over his 12-season career, Quinn has accumulated 102 sacks, placing him 60th on the all-time list. Hopefully, he can turn things around, but this recent incident is certainly raising some serious questions. Stay tuned for updates!
