A 28-year-old San Jose man was arrested early Sunday morning in connection with two burglaries at the same La Honda residence, according to authorities. The suspect was booked into a San Mateo County jail after deputies responded to a burglary call at a home on the 2900 block of Long Ridge Road around 12:30 a.m.
Deputies from the Coastside Patrol Bureau established a perimeter around the property and were able to safely apprehend the suspect, who was believed to have entered the home through a rear window. Authorities found stolen items worth approximately $3,000 in the suspect’s car at the scene.
In a shocking twist, officers believe the man had committed a similar burglary at the same residence just a day earlier. The suspect is now facing charges for both break-ins and is being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.
The arrest has brought some relief to the homeowners, who were shaken by the repeated burglaries. This case highlights the persistence of crime in the area and the swift action of local law enforcement in bringing the alleged thief into custody.
