The NYPD has arrested 57-year-old Victor Andino in connection with a violent stabbing in Norwood earlier this month.
Police say the incident occurred on March 10 outside 33 E 208th Street. Andino allegedly got into an argument with a 32-year-old man before pulling out a knife and stabbing him in the torso. After the attack, Andino fled the scene, leaving the injured victim behind.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to SBH Health System, where he was treated and later listed in stable condition.
After an investigation, police arrested Andino on Tuesday. He has been charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Residents in the area remain concerned about safety as violent incidents continue to occur. The NYPD is urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
Authorities have not released further details about the motive behind the attack. However, this arrest marks a step toward justice for the victim.
Police encourage anyone with additional information about the case to come forward.
