Breaking: Greenville Police Arrest Man on Multiple Drug Charges During Routine Stop

A Greenville man has been arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop that concluded a three-month investigation. The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported that 31-year-old Travis McCormick, Jr. was taken into custody just before 2 p.m. after being pulled over on South Memorial Drive at Arlington Boulevard.

During the traffic stop, deputies discovered trafficking amounts of fentanyl, felony amounts of cocaine, Xanax, marijuana, and a large sum of cash. Authorities stated that the stop was the result of an extensive investigation into drug-related activities in the area.

McCormick has been charged with multiple offenses, including five counts of trafficking opium, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver heroin, and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana. He also faces five counts of maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for drug-related activities.

Following his arrest, McCormick was taken to the Pitt County Jail. While in custody, he was found to be in possession of fentanyl, leading to an additional charge of possession of controlled substances on jail premises.

Authorities have set McCormick’s bond at $4,501,920 secured, and he remains in jail as the investigation continues. The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and urged the community to report any suspicious activities.
