A suspect has been arrested in connection with a drug-related death in Barnwell County, South Carolina. Authorities confirmed on Tuesday that Willis “Cowboy” Craig Williams was taken into custody on Friday and charged with manslaughter following the death of an individual on February 12.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division also reported separate drug-related arrests in Bamberg County. Two men, identified as 27-year-old Jayvon Jacquel Johnson and 26-year-old Ja’Kwan Malik Bryant, were taken into custody and charged with drug offenses and other related crimes. Authorities have not specified if these arrests are connected to Williams’ case.
In addition to the manslaughter charge, Williams is also facing charges of heroin distribution and distributing drugs within close proximity to a school or playground. Law enforcement officials have not yet provided further details regarding the circumstances of the victim’s death or how Williams was linked to the case.
Following his arrest, Williams was booked into jail, where he later appeared for a bond hearing. Officials have not disclosed whether bond was granted or if he remains in custody.
