LINDEN, NJ – A 17-year-old from Newark has been arrested following a shocking shooting outside an Applebee’s in Linden just after midnight on Sunday. Authorities say three other suspects remain at large.
According to police, four men entered the restaurant searching for a specific target. Once they spotted him, they chased him outside and opened fire. Fortunately, the intended victim managed to escape unharmed.
Officers responded quickly, pursuing and apprehending the teen after a brief chase. During the arrest, police recovered two firearms. However, the three remaining suspects fled the scene and have yet to be identified.
The arrested teen now faces multiple charges, though officials have not disclosed specific details. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their investigation.
