The Washington Police Department has arrested three individuals in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation that led to the discovery of two stolen cars. Officers responded to a request from the Raleigh Police Department, who had informed them about a stolen vehicle from Raleigh that was believed to be located at 301 Washington Street.
Upon arriving at the scene, Washington police discovered not only the stolen vehicle from Raleigh but also an additional unreported stolen vehicle from the same area. This discovery prompted the arrest of three individuals: Zavion Simpkins, 20, and Tyvon Randall, 22, both from Raleigh, as well as an unnamed minor.
Simpkins was found to have outstanding warrants for a previous larceny of a motor vehicle charge out of Raleigh. Authorities confirmed that he was involved in other theft-related offenses, which had led to the active warrants for his arrest. Meanwhile, Randall, along with the minor, was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the stolen vehicles.
After the arrests, both Simpkins and Randall were released on bond, while the investigation into the stolen vehicles continues. The Washington Police Department is working closely with Raleigh authorities to further investigate the connection between the suspects and the stolen vehicles.
The discovery of the second vehicle, which had not been reported stolen previously, raises additional questions about possible connections to other thefts in the area. However, authorities are continuing to gather evidence and follow leads to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in stolen vehicle crimes.
This case highlights the ongoing collaboration between law enforcement agencies across jurisdictions, as they work together to address vehicle theft and related crimes. The Washington Police Department has urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity that may aid in their efforts to combat car theft.
