Police in Tacoma, Washington, recently apprehended a man with outstanding warrants and discovered an astonishing amount of stolen goods concealed within his clothing. Among the stolen items were 25 pounds of frozen shrimp, along with various other products hidden inside his shirt and coat.
According to the Tacoma Police Department, Sergeant Thiry located the suspect and took him into custody. During a routine pat-down, Thiry was surprised to uncover a large quantity of stolen merchandise tucked away in the man’s clothing. The department later released Thiry’s body camera footage on Facebook, showing a sped-up clip of him retrieving numerous items from the suspect’s coat and shirt while music played in the background.
In the video, Thiry expresses shock upon pulling out a concealed bag, exclaiming, “What’s all this? They’re frozen!” He then asks, “Jiminy Christmas! How many bags of shrimp did you take?” as he continues to remove more frozen seafood from the man’s attire. Authorities confirmed that the stolen goods had been taken from a nearby store.
After pulling out multiple items, Thiry questions the suspect about whether he has anything else concealed. The man appears to deny having more, but a final search reveals a hidden bottle of what seems to be Hershey’s Strawberry Syrup. In a tone of disbelief, Thiry remarks, “Oh, Hershey’s syrup!” while placing it alongside the other recovered items.
By the time the search is complete, the hood of Thiry’s patrol car is nearly covered with the stolen merchandise, which includes the 25 pounds of frozen shrimp. Laughing at the unusual discovery, Thiry comments, “It’s impressive, I’ll tell you that.”
Authorities have not disclosed additional details regarding the suspect’s identity or potential charges. However, the video has drawn attention for the sheer volume of items hidden within the man’s clothing.
