The Edgecombe County Sheriff’s Office has charged four juveniles, between the ages of 11 and 14, with stealing a car and attempting to break into multiple other vehicles. The incident took place in the Forest Hills area of Princeville, where deputies responded to a report of a possible vehicle break-in.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers located and arrested the suspects. The investigation revealed that the juveniles had successfully stolen one vehicle and had attempted to steal three others, causing damage in the process. Authorities confirmed that the damaged vehicles had been tampered with as part of their attempt to steal them.
Following their arrest, the four juveniles were charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, three counts of attempted larceny of a motor vehicle, one count of larceny of a motor vehicle, and one count of injury to personal property.
After being taken into custody, the juveniles were later released to their parents under deferred detention. The sheriff’s office continues its investigation and urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent further vehicle thefts and break-ins.
