The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on Nine Mile Road near Gales Creek Road. It was a head-on collision involving two vehicles, which resulted in the death of young Zayn.
Duran shared in the fundraiser’s description that his brother Malik sustained minor injuries, including a concussion. However, Brittany suffered more severe injuries, including a broken leg and extensive abdominal damage, which required five hours of reconstructive surgery. The most heartbreaking loss for the family was the passing of Zayn, an unimaginable tragedy that has left them in deep sorrow.
