An early morning traffic stop in a quiet northwest Atlanta neighborhood turned tense when an officer fired at a vehicle fleeing the scene. It all happened around 2:44 a.m. on Moores Mill Road, just east of Peachtree Battle Avenue NW.
The situation began when an Atlanta police officer pulled over a vehicle in the area. But as the officer approached, things took a strange turn. According to the police, the people inside the car started tossing items out of the vehicle. Then, without warning, the car sped off.
In the heat of the moment, the officer fired his weapon. However, police later confirmed that neither the car nor the individuals inside it appeared to have been hit. Thankfully, the officer wasn’t hurt during the incident.
What followed was an intense search for the vehicle and its occupants. Despite their efforts throughout Monday, police haven’t been able to locate the car or figure out who was inside.
Authorities are asking anyone who might have seen something or knows anything about the situation to reach out to the Atlanta Police Department. Your tip could help them piece together what happened.
