Christmas Day Violence in Fort Lauderdale: One Dead, One Injured in Two Shootings

Fort Lauderdale saw a violent Christmas Day with two shootings happening just over an hour apart, leaving one person dead and another hurt, police said.

The first shooting took place around 11:15 a.m. right outside the Presidente Supermarket on Northwest 9th Avenue. Paramedics rushed a man to the hospital, but despite their efforts, he didn’t survive.

Not long after, at about 12:30 p.m., gunfire broke out again — this time just half a block away near Northwest 8th Street and 10th Terrace. The second victim was also taken to the hospital, but thankfully, they’re expected to be okay.

Police haven’t shared the names of the victims yet or given any information about possible suspects. With the two shootings happening so close together in both time and location, many are wondering if they’re connected.
