Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy

On Christmas Eve, a chilling incident unfolded in Haltom City, Texas, when a young woman was kidnapped at gunpoint. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Eduardo Javier Ordonez Godoy from Honduras, is now facing multiple charges after being caught in Oklahoma City on Christmas Day.

Here’s how it happened: Around 4:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve, a 22-year-old woman was walking to her car at the Acacia Apartments on Denton Highway in Haltom City. Out of nowhere, Godoy approached her with a gun, forcing her into her own vehicle. Authorities say he threatened her multiple times, even making her withdraw money from a bank. Afterward, he drove her to the Camden Apartments in Grapevine.

The situation took a terrifying turn as Godoy briefly restrained the woman. But in a courageous act, she managed to break free and find someone to help her. Meanwhile, Godoy fled the scene in her car.

The story doesn’t end there. On Christmas Day, police tracked Godoy to Oklahoma City. He was arrested and taken into custody. Detectives from Haltom City traveled to Oklahoma to interview him, and during questioning, he reportedly admitted to committing the crime.

Currently, Godoy is being held at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Along with the charges in Haltom City for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery, he’s also facing a long list of charges in Oklahoma City, including unauthorized use of a vehicle, using a firearm while committing a felony, possessing stolen property, and illegally carrying a firearm as an undocumented immigrant.

Authorities have also placed an ICE detainer on Godoy due to his immigration status. As the investigation continues, police say additional charges could be filed.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the bravery of the young woman and the swift action of law enforcement to ensure her safety and bring the suspect to justice.
