Two Hospitalized After Two-Vehicle Crash in Butler County, Missouri
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. – Two individuals sustained injuries and were hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Butler County, Missouri, on Saturday, January 18.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the accident occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m. on Highway T, about two miles east of Poplar Bluff. The incident involved a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse and a 2016 GMC 2500.
The crash happened when the driver of the Chevrolet Traverse failed to yield, leading to a collision with the GMC 2500. The Chevrolet Traverse was being driven by a 29-year-old woman from Dexter, Missouri. She sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
A 27-year-old man from Dexter, who was an occupant in the GMC 2500, suffered serious injuries in the crash. He was airlifted by Air EVAC to Barnes Medical Center in St. Louis for urgent medical care.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol noted that neither the driver of the Chevrolet Traverse nor the occupant of the GMC 2500 were using safety devices at the time of the crash.
