A shooting occurred at a Boosie Badazz concert in Akron, Ohio, leaving two people critically injured. The incident took place at the FieldHouse Lounge during the rapper’s performance. According to a report from the Akron Police Department, a fight broke out inside the venue, leading an unidentified male suspect to fire multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
Off-duty uniformed officers, who were working security for the event, called for additional assistance shortly after 2:00 a.m. local time. Authorities arrived to find two men, aged 18 and 36, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital in critical condition. A third victim, a 25-year-old man, later arrived at a local hospital with a graze wound. The names of the victims have not been released.
Akron Police Deputy Chief Michael Miller told TMZ that investigators believe the shooter was able to bring the weapon inside by slipping through a blind spot. At least one of the shots was fired while Boosie Badazz was still on stage. Social media footage from the concert captured the rapper performing before suddenly ducking and running offstage after a loud gunshot was heard.
In response to the incident, the FieldHouse Lounge released a statement expressing sorrow over the violence. The venue stated that it was deeply saddened by what had occurred and extended thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. The statement also acknowledged the distress caused to concertgoers and reassured patrons that safety remains a top priority. The venue pledged to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
This shooting follows another violent incident at an outdoor concert in August, where Boosie Badazz also performed. That event, titled “The Pull Up Car Show and Music Fest,” was disrupted by gunfire, raising further concerns about security at music events.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the Akron shooting, but no suspect has been identified or arrested at this time. The Akron Police Department and Boosie’s representatives have yet to provide additional comments on the incident.
