An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old girl who was found stabbed to death earlier this month. The Louisville Police Department reported that Isabella Verbaere was discovered with multiple stab wounds on March 1. Despite emergency responders arriving quickly, she succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported to the hospital.
Following an investigation, authorities arrested 18-year-old Kaden Seviour and charged him with murder. According to an arrest citation, a witness informed police that she had heard Seviour and Isabella inside a bedroom before the incident occurred. The witness recalled hearing Isabella asking to be let out of the room and attempting to open the door but being unable to do so. Shortly after, the witness moved to the back of the house, where she discovered Isabella lying on the ground. Seviour was seen fleeing the scene after jumping out of a window.
Law enforcement officials did not disclose further details regarding a possible motive or the relationship between Seviour and Isabella. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal altercation. The case has drawn significant attention due to the young ages of both individuals involved.
During his initial court appearance, Seviour’s defense attorney noted that he has autism. It remains unclear if this condition will play a role in his legal proceedings. Currently, Seviour is being held in jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
