A fatal crash occurred in Iron County, Missouri, on the afternoon of February 10, 2025. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), troopers responded to the accident just before 4 p.m. The crash took place on Route N, approximately eight miles north of Johnson Shut-Ins State Park.
Authorities reported that a 71-year-old man from House Springs, Missouri, was driving a pickup truck in the northbound direction when his vehicle veered off the left side of the road. The truck then collided with a tree and caught fire upon impact. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead on-site.
MSHP stated that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The collision caused severe damage to the vehicle, and it was deemed a total loss. Officials have not yet determined what led to the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.
