An Amazon delivery driver in California has been arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a minor and a woman in two separate incidents while on duty. Authorities are now asking any potential additional victims to come forward.
The suspect, identified as Fernando Barreto-Hernandez, was initially arrested on January 24 for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor while delivering Amazon packages in Los Angeles in December 2024. The Glendale Police Department (GPD) provided details about the case in a news release.
On February 21, as Barreto-Hernandez appeared in court for the initial case, he was arrested again in connection with a separate incident. A woman in Glendale had reported being sexually assaulted by an Amazon delivery driver on January 21, prompting further investigation.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has since filed a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges for both cases. According to The Los Angeles Times, Barreto-Hernandez has been charged with committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, as well as touching another person against their will for sexual arousal.
Barreto-Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the charges, as reported by CBS News Los Angeles, citing court documents.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have experienced similar incidents involving the suspect to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing, and law enforcement officials are working to determine if there are additional victims.
