Family Crime? Brothers Busted in Aurora Drug Trafficking Probe

Deputies in Beaufort County have arrested two brothers following an investigation into drug sales in Aurora. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office reported that its drug unit, along with probation and parole officers, conducted the arrests on Thursday at a residence in Aurora.

According to authorities, Robert Blount III was taken into custody as he was wanted for a parole violation and had three active arrest warrants related to recent controlled purchases of illegal drugs. During the search of the home, deputies also found his brother, Ryakeem Blount, in possession of marijuana.

Robert Blount III faces multiple drug-related charges, including two counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (fentanyl), possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (heroin), and a probation/parole violation. Due to the nature of his charges and parole status, the 35-year-old was taken to the Beaufort County Jail under no bond.

Ryakeem Blount was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The 33-year-old was booked into the Beaufort County Jail with a secured bond set at $4,000.

The investigation into illegal drug activity in the area remains ongoing as law enforcement officials continue efforts to reduce the distribution of narcotics within the community. Authorities encourage residents to report any suspicious activity to help in combating drug-related crimes.
