A tragic and deeply disturbing incident has shaken Sacramento County just days before Christmas. Early on the morning of December 20, deputies rushed to a home on Versailles Way in North Sacramento County after receiving reports of a family disturbance.
When they arrived around 4:15 a.m., they found a woman outside the house who told them her husband had attacked her and her mother. The woman’s mother was injured and taken to the hospital, but thankfully, her injuries were not life-threatening.
Inside the house, things took a much darker turn. Deputies tried to get the man, identified as 28-year-old Andrey Demskiy, to open the door and surrender. But he refused to cooperate. To make matters even more alarming, deputies learned that his 1-year-old son was alone inside with him.
Fearing for the child’s safety, the deputies forced their way into the house. They managed to take Demskiy into custody, but what they found inside was truly horrifying. In one of the bedrooms, they discovered the severed head of the young boy.
Investigators revealed that the incident began with a domestic violence situation. Demskiy had reportedly assaulted his wife and mother-in-law. After they left the house to wait for help, Demskiy used a knife to kill and behead his own son.
Demskiy was arrested on the spot and taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he is being held without bail. He is facing serious charges and is scheduled to appear in court on December 24.
This shocking act has left the community reeling, especially during a time meant for joy and togetherness. Authorities continue to investigate, and the family now faces unimaginable grief in the wake of this heartbreaking tragedy.
