FBI Tip Thwarts Alleged Valentine’s Day Mass Shooting Plot at Indiana High School

A teenager in Indiana is facing serious charges after allegedly planning a mass shooting at their high school on Valentine’s Day. Authorities say 18-year-old Trinity Shockley was arrested after a tip led investigators to uncover a disturbing plot.

According to court records, Shockley has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, making terroristic threats, and other related offenses. It’s unclear whether they have entered a plea or hired an attorney.

The situation came to light when the FBI’s Sandy Hook tip line received alarming information and passed it on to the Mooresville Police Department. The tipster claimed Shockley, a senior at Mooresville High School, had access to an AR-15 rifle and had recently purchased a bulletproof vest. The tipster also mentioned that Shockley “admired” Nikolas Cruz, the gunman responsible for the 2018 Parkland school shooting in Florida, which happened on Valentine’s Day.

Authorities quickly launched an investigation and reportedly found messages on Snapchat that seemed to confirm the threat. One message allegedly read, “Parkland part two,” while another stated, “I’ve been planning this for a YEAR.”

A search warrant was issued for Shockley’s home, and police say they discovered concerning evidence—a notebook filled with violent drawings and phrases like “kill” and “DIE DIE DIE,” along with pictures of known mass shooters, including Cruz.

When questioned by police, Shockley allegedly claimed the whole thing was just a joke. However, according to reports, they also said they had been bullied and had previously sought mental health treatment but were denied help.

Mooresville School District released a statement confirming that Shockley “will not return to the school.” Authorities have not shared any further details on the ongoing investigation.
