Florida Mom Begged for Help Before Fatal Shooting in Deadly Spree—Estranged Husband Arrested

A Florida woman desperately ran through her neighborhood, begging for help after being shot—just moments before she was killed in a violent shooting spree that left three people dead.

Authorities say 34-year-old Mary Gingles was one of the victims of her estranged husband, Nathan Gingles, who also abducted their 4-year-old daughter, Seraphine, before being arrested hours later.

The chaos began early Sunday morning, Feb. 16, when police responded to reports of gunfire at a home in Tamarac, Florida. When they arrived, they found Mary’s father, 64-year-old David Pozner, shot dead on the back patio. But that was only the beginning.

Officers quickly realized that both Mary and Seraphine were missing. An Amber Alert was issued for the little girl, naming Nathan as the suspect. At the time, authorities weren’t sure if Mary had been taken as well.

As the search intensified, police discovered Mary’s body inside a neighbor’s home. That neighbor, 36-year-old Andrew Ferrin, had also been killed.

A witness later revealed that Mary had been running through the neighborhood, frantically knocking on doors, trying to get help before she was fatally shot. Her bloody footprints were left behind as she tried to escape.

Nathan was eventually found in North Lauderdale, where police arrested him and safely recovered Seraphine. He is now facing multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree murder, violating a protective order, and interfering with custody.

He’s being held without bail for the most serious charges, though his bond for the custody charge has been set at $2,500. It remains unclear whether he has an attorney for this case.

This tragedy is yet another reminder of the deadly consequences of domestic violence—one that cost three lives and left a child without her mother.
