Former JROTC Instructor Turns Himself In Amid Shocking Sexual Assault Allegations

In Henry County, Georgia, a former JROTC instructor named Rodney Freeman has turned himself in to authorities after being accused of sexual assault. This incident took place at Union Grove High School, where Freeman worked until the allegations surfaced.

Freeman surrendered to the U.S. Marshals Service on January 14, 2025, at around 9:57 a.m. He is now facing serious charges, specifically one count of sexual assault by someone in a position of authority. The alleged assault reportedly happened on December 13, 2024, which led to an arrest warrant being issued for him.

The situation escalated when Freeman was reported missing after he was last seen at his home on Saffron Lane in McDonough on December 17. Following this, the police issued an alert, and he became the focus of a missing persons investigation.

Once the allegations came to light, Union Grove High School placed Freeman on administrative leave. The school district acknowledged the ongoing law enforcement investigation and emphasized the importance of handling such serious matters with transparency.

This case serves as a reminder of how crucial it is to address allegations of misconduct quickly, especially in schools where trust and safety are paramount. Now that Freeman is in custody, he will face legal proceedings related to the charges against him.
