A fire in Goldsboro, North Carolina, left three people without a home after it severely damaged a residence on Carriage Road. The incident occurred in the afternoon, prompting an emergency response from the Goldsboro Fire Department. Firefighters arrived at the scene around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a call from one of the residents who had returned home to find the house engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival, fire crews encountered thick smoke billowing from the home. A total of five fire trucks and 19 firefighters worked to control and extinguish the blaze. Once the flames were subdued, the firefighters conducted a thorough search of the property to ensure no individuals were trapped inside. Officials confirmed that the fire was fully extinguished shortly after 3 p.m.
The fire caused extensive damage, with approximately 70% of the house affected by the flames and smoke. As a result, the three residents of the home were displaced. The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross provided assistance to those impacted, offering temporary relief and support.
Emergency personnel from both the Goldsboro Police Department and Wayne County EMS also responded to the scene to provide additional aid and ensure public safety.
The total cost of the damage has not yet been determined. Investigators from the Goldsboro Fire Department are currently examining the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
