Gypsy-Rose Blanchard’s Countdown to True Freedom A New Life Awaits!

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is counting down the days until she’s completely free.

The 33-year-old, who became widely known for her tragic and shocking life story, recently shared on Instagram that she has just four months and six days left of her parole. That means on June 24, she’ll finally be free of all legal restrictions.

“A whole new world is about to open up for me,” she told PEOPLE. “I’m excited for the opportunities and adventures ahead.”

Even though she’s been out of prison since December 2023, Gypsy-Rose explained that she still feels somewhat tied to the system. “I have freedoms, but in a way, I’m still ‘property of the state of Missouri.’ I can’t wait to live without those restrictions.”

Her story is one that captured national attention. Gypsy-Rose, a victim of Munchausen by proxy, spent years under her mother’s abusive control. In 2016, she pleaded guilty to her role in her mother Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard’s murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. After serving seven years, she was granted parole and walked free just before the start of 2024.

Since her release, her life has taken some unexpected turns. She rekindled a romance with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, following her split from husband Ryan Scott Anderson in March. By April, Gypsy-Rose and Ken were officially back together, and a few months later, she revealed that they were expecting their first child.

On December 28—exactly one year after her release—Gypsy-Rose and Ken welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker. The proud dad shared a heartwarming Instagram post of Gypsy-Rose holding their newborn, writing, “Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all.”

As she settles into motherhood, Gypsy-Rose has been open about how much she loves her new role. On Valentine’s Day, she posted about her “two sweethearts”—Ken and baby Aurora—sharing that she feels incredibly lucky to have them in her life.

She’s also using this time to heal from her past. In a recent Instagram post, she shared a deeply personal message about how raising her daughter is helping her overcome childhood trauma. “With every kiss, every lullaby, and every cuddle, I heal my inner child,” she wrote. “I’m breaking cycles and creating a better future for my baby.”

With her parole soon coming to an end, Gypsy-Rose is looking ahead to a fresh start, fully in control of her own life for the first time ever.
