Four brothers were involved in a tragic car crash in Philadelphia on Friday, resulting in the deaths of two siblings and leaving their community in mourning.
Twenty-two-year-old Joshua Davis, of Cranbury, New Jersey, and his 23-year-old brother, Aaron Davis, of East Windsor, New Jersey, lost their lives when their vehicle crashed off Interstate 95. The car veered off the roadway and fell approximately 30 feet onto Castor Avenue. Their twin 18-year-old brothers, who were also in the car at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries.
The devastating loss has deeply impacted their family and church community. Senior Pastor Donald Hilliard of Cathedral International Church, who has known the family for years, expressed his grief over the tragedy. He described himself as both their pastor and a close family friend, making the loss especially difficult. During a church service on Sunday, Hilliard shared his emotions with the congregation, recalling his personal connection to the brothers. He had christened and baptized them, and their deaths have shaken the community.
Witnesses reported to police that the Mazda the brothers were in had been racing against a Dodge Challenger on the highway before the driver lost control. The accident is under investigation as authorities work to determine the full circumstances leading to the crash.
Hilliard acknowledged the overwhelming pain the family is facing and noted that moving forward will not be easy. However, he emphasized the outpouring of love and support they have been receiving from the community. Plans are being made for a double funeral to honor the brothers.
Reflecting on the tragedy, Hilliard spoke of the lasting impact Joshua and Aaron had on those around them. He expressed hope that, in time, their grieving parents would find some comfort. While the loss is immeasurable, he believes that through faith and support, the family will find strength to continue.
