Heartbreaking Loss in Simpsonville: Man Charged in Death of 4-Year-Old Addison

Simpsonville, South Carolina – A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken the Simpsonville community as a man accused in the death of a young girl was denied bond on Friday.

Deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office were called to Prisma Hospital on December 23 to investigate the case of a 4-year-old girl named Addison, who had been hospitalized. Sadly, just three days later, on December 26, little Addison passed away.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy the following day and confirmed that Addison died from blunt force trauma. Her death was ruled a homicide. According to officials, Addison was a special needs child, making the circumstances even more devastating.

On Thursday, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged 28-year-old Tyler David Ternberg with homicide by child abuse. According to arrest warrants, Ternberg allegedly inflicted “non-accidental trauma” on the young girl. Officials revealed that Ternberg was the boyfriend of Addison’s mother and was taking care of her at the time of the incident.

At a bond hearing on Friday, Ternberg was denied bond and remains in custody.

This deeply disturbing case has left many in the Simpsonville community mourning the loss of a young life. As investigations continue, residents are grappling with the tragedy and seeking justice for Addison.
