VA – Nearly three years after a devastating double homicide at a Newport News 7-Eleven, police are again urging the public for help in solving the case. Authorities are especially hoping to hear from individuals who may have previously come forward with information.
The fatal shooting occurred on June 15, 2022, at approximately 11:46 p.m. at the Kiln Creek 7-Eleven on the 1400 block of Kiln Creek Parkway. When officers arrived, they found two adult males, 52-year-old Preyas Patel and 35-year-old Logan Edward Thomas, suffering from gunshot wounds inside the store. Both victims were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
In an effort to bring those responsible to justice, the 7-Eleven Corporation is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. This reward is separate from the Virginia Peninsula Crime Stoppers reward, and those seeking it will not remain anonymous.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Rogers at 757-928-4219. Every tip could be crucial in bringing closure to the victims’ families and ensuring justice is served.
