Man Arrested on Multiple Charges Including Kidnapping and Assault in Onslow County
Onslow County, N.C. — A man from Eastern Carolina is in custody after being charged with kidnapping and multiple counts of assault following an investigation by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies received a report on December 28th regarding a woman allegedly held at gunpoint and assaulted by her boyfriend, identified as 33-year-old Alonzo Jackson. Authorities launched an investigation that culminated in a search of Jackson’s residence on December 31st at 231 North Windy Ridge Road in Hubert. During the search, deputies recovered two firearms that reportedly matched the description of the weapon used in the assault.
Further inquiries revealed Jackson’s history of domestic violence, according to the Sheriff’s Office. This history added significant weight to the charges brought against him.
On January 5th, Jackson was arrested and formally charged with several felonies, including:
- Felony 2nd-degree kidnapping
- Felony assault by strangulation
- Felony robbery with a dangerous weapon
He also faces charges for interfering with 911 communications, assault by pointing a gun, assault on a female, and assault with a deadly weapon.
Jackson made his initial court appearance on Monday, January 1st, where he was held without bond. However, he was subsequently granted a $350,000 secured bond. He remains in custody at the Onslow County Jail as of the latest updates.
