A young cab driver tragically lost his life in a shocking car fire outside his ex-girlfriend’s wedding in Delhi, leaving his family questioning whether there’s more to the story.
Anil, a 24-year-old who worked as a cab driver in the bustling Indian capital, was found in his car, burned beyond recognition, on the night of Saturday, January 18. The horrifying incident happened at the entrance of a banquet hall in East Delhi’s Gazipur area, where his former partner was tying the knot.
Witnesses called the police around 11 p.m. after seeing a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R consumed by flames. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Dhania, some people nearby smashed the car’s windows and managed to pull Anil out, but it was too late. His body was already badly burned.
What’s raising eyebrows is Anil’s connection to the bride. Local sources revealed that he and the bride had been in a relationship before her family reportedly opposed it. Heartbroken and unable to move on, Anil allegedly showed up at the wedding that night. However, what led to the car catching fire remains unclear.
Adding to the tragic twist, Anil himself was preparing to start a new chapter. He was engaged and set to marry on February 14. On the night of his death, he had been out delivering invitations to his wedding, according to reports.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been confirmed, and authorities are investigating the incident. For now, Anil’s family is left mourning and searching for answers as they grapple with this devastating loss.
