A tense situation unfolded Sunday night in Greater Grand Crossing when a 29-year-old man found himself in a heated argument with three other men at an apartment complex on South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The verbal exchange quickly escalated, and before anyone knew it, gunshots rang out.
The altercation took place around 8:28 p.m., and in the chaos, the 29-year-old was shot twice in the leg. He was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment but was later arrested by the police.
Authorities recovered a weapon from the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
